BODY WISDOM SOURCING

Through Jin Shin Jyutsu®, the client's body leads the way towards reharmonization, grounding, and releasing stress. This practice is ideal to incorporate into Active Receptivity™ coaching for clients who find themselves "stuck in their heads." By allowing the body to guide where personal growth and conflict are most present, cultivating mindfulness and receptivity in conversational coaching becomes much easier. We all have a sense of the emotional messages of having butterflies in our stomach or knots in our neck. Jin Shin Jyutsu allows us to see even more subtle signals the body is sending.

JIN SHIN JYUTSU® Physio-Philosophy FAQ

How does Jin Shin Jyutsu WORK?

Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art, not a medical technique. It employs 26 "safety energy locks" along the pathways that feed life into our bodies. These safety energy locks are located at the intersections of our energy highways. When one or more of these pathways becomes blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area causing pain and eventually dis-harmonizing the complete path of energy flow. Holding these energy locks in combination reopens the pathway and brings balance to body, mind and spirit. This can bring about relief for mental, emotional, physical or spiritual stress.

What can I expect during a session?

The receiver remains clothed and lies face up on a cushioned treatment table. The coach’s hands are placed over the client's clothes, and the practice does not involve manipulation, massage, rubbing, or any drugs or substances. As the energy flows freely, it boosts healing capacities and promotes relaxation, balanced energy, and well-being. It is a valuable complement to conversational coaching and conventional healing methods.

What should I wear or eat before a session?

Loose, comfortable clothing is suggested. If you eat before a session, it is recommended to only have a light meal or snack. If you eat a large meal beforehand, a lot of your body's energy will be focused on digesting your food instead of moving throughout your body. Equally, a large meal directly after a session is not recommended for the same reason.

Can I receive a session if I’m on medication?

Jin Shin Jyutsu is a powerful and effective tool to relax and reduce stress and pain in our daily lives.  It is a very supportive non-medical method, co-operating with other natural therapies and medical practices. There are no counter-indications to Jin Shin Jyutsu Treatments.

History of Jin Shin Jyutsu

Jin Shin Jyutsu physio-philosophy is an ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body. Born of innate wisdom and passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, the art had fallen into relative obscurity when it was dramatically revived in the early 1900's by Master Jiro Murai in Japan. After clearing himself of a life-threatening illness, Master Murai devoted the rest of his life to the research and development of Jin Shin Jyutsu, gathering insight from a range of experiences and resources, including the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Things). The resulting knowledge of JSJ was then given to Mary Burmeister, who brought it to the United States in the 1950's. Mrs. Burmeister began teaching the art to others in the early 1960's, and today there are thousands of student practitioners throughout the United States and around the world.

"I recently had the pleasure of receiving a session with Julie and it was fantastic! Julie has a nice, warm, and genuine demeanor which put me at ease right away. She really listened to what was going on with my body and my inner chatter at that moment and clearly addressed it in my session. Her touch is calming and comes right from her heart. I have had lots of energy work before but this was new to me and though it felt similar to energy work I have had in the past, Julie's work is much more specific. I have a long history of lower back problems and during my session I could feel all the muscles there relaxing and releasing. I haven't felt that relaxed and cleared out in a long time. It was so relaxing it took me a couple of hours to come down from the high. I slept like a baby that night and felt so much lighter and cleansed the next morning. Julie is an amazing presence and her work is equally so. I will be back for sure!!"
