Spiritual Maturation + Energy Healing

Our appetite for information outweighs our need for space and digestion, specifically space for cultivating non-attachment and making a home with groundless ground, understanding impermanence directly. We have an addiction to investigation when what we really seek is ease, and this addiction to trying to gather more information and engage in ever more meaning-making robs us of the space needed to be in bare awareness. This is the ease and home we seek. there is a sense in the investigation that “this should be resolving faster than it is.” It’s time to take in less information and to offer less information. It is the overwhelm that creates the sense of “too much to…” - too much to read, do, say, experience, etc.

In spiritual development, our spiritual investigation matures over time. It is a holarchy of maturation phases rather than hierarchy of maturation. Each phase of spiritual investigation is incorporated, still necessary, and integral to continued individual and collective spiritual maturation. Each form of investigation becomes less important or less centered in our approach, but are still both useful and pleasureful as we elevate our investigation. These phases are:

-       receiving teachings and noticing our binary response of agreement or disagreement

-       investigation, interpretation, discernment, explaining

-       stories, poetry, analogies, metaphor

-       symbols, felt sense, dream impressions, imaginal worlds

-       direct experience, bare awareness of truth

You can see how we wouldn’t want to walk around the planet in our spiritual investigation just with direct experience or just receiving symbology or dwelling in imaginal worlds. It would not be very fun or useful to abandon our conversations of interpretation or our poetry and stories. And we need our binary response of “this feels right to me,” or “this seems wrong to me” to continue as a platform in our spiritual engagement.

In energy healing and somatic training, we incorporate the spiritual investigation skills that are already present and build upon this toolkit, bringing in ever more layers and dimensions. But the process of maturation is actually one of allowing, opening, and softening. Each level of spiritual investigation has less concretization than the one before, so the development requires a kind of letting go of structure at each step in the process. We let go of rigidity to be able to harness and keep all the gifts of each level of spiritual maturation.
